Yoga On and Off the Mat
"By discovering nature, you discover yourself." ~ author unknown
Last week we took a short trip to the mountains. Time away and being in nature helps put things in perspective. The strength and the power of the mountains make them majestic places of introspection. Their size is eclipsing and quiets the ego. Their presence demands our presence. You can easily become grounded in the beauty of mother earth.
It's easy to get caught up in our day to day tasks, problems and challenges. It's easy to feel overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty, as we try to find our new normal. We're pulled in different directions with how we should think, act and feel. But when we get quiet and find our center, we begin to think for ourselves. Our internal compass begins to show us the way.
Scott has a saying, "You can get busy living, or get busy dying." To often we take our time for granted. We always think we can put things off for another time, when it's easier, safer, more convenient, etc. The time is now. Make time for yourself, make your health a priority, find connection, go within and hear the truth from your source.
Trips are fantastic. Getaways are needed sometimes. We don't need a vacation though to get centered, grounded and quiet our mind. Being in our yoga practice does that. Our practice helps us to know ourselves more fully and guides us to our true north. Ayurveda shows us the path of aligning ourselves with nature to find greater balance, health and harmony in our lives. Both practices are interconnected and help us improve our immune system.
Meditation is a great tool to find peace and answers from within. Enjoy this mountain meditation to reconnect with yourself.
"It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” ~ Edmund Hillary
